this is not a quick fix. we’re only in it for the, er, drugs? but oh yes, it is interesting. as if sent from above, we can explain everything with social network theory. it’s the holy grail. or, is it?

as much as i enjoyed taleb’s the black swan (look mom, no caps!), i really didn’t like his new book, the bed of procrustes. while the former is thought provoking, the latter is not; taleb’s wrapped up his rants and advice on the form of aphorisms, digestable in a way that doesn’t lend itself to further wasting wetware cpu-cycles. the way ideas are presented does matter, and...
